Girls Junior Football at Fencibles comprises grades U9, U10, U11 and U12 Grades.

After U12 grade, players move on to Youth football.

Junior grade teams play on Saturday mornings and have two options for games depending on how much you are prepared to travel and the training.

At this age Girls can choose to play in a girls-only team if they wish, or remain in the mixed teams if they prefer. They have three options;

  1. Girls Only Teams - In-house Girls can choose to be in an all-girls team, and play against other Fencibles mixed teams, on Saturday mornings at Meadowlands Reserve in our U9 and U10 Grade In-house League. Games are played every Saturday morning at Meadowlands Reserve at the same time and no additional travel is required. Click here for more information
  2. Girls Only Travelling Teams - NRF Leagues: Girls can choose to play in an all-girls team, participating in the Northern Region Football league against other all girls teams from clubs across Auckland. Games will be on Saturday mornings at home (William Green Domain or Greenmount Reserve) and away at other clubs. Generally games kick off between 10am and 12pm, but this may vary from week to week depending on location and field availability.
  3. Mixed Travelling Teams – NRF Leagues: Girls can also choose to play in mixed/boys NRF Leagues, against other teams from clubs across Auckland. Games will be on Saturday mornings at home (William Green Domain or Greenmount Reserve) and away at other clubs.

Girls Only Travelling Teams

Generally games kick off between 10am and 12pm, but this may vary from week to week depending on location and field availability.

We have two levels for girls who want to travel each Saturday morning playing against other club teams:

  1. Junior Development Teams (Development Programme) – These are the top talent teams for each of our Junior grades and are for players that wish to train and play two times a week with a dedicated coach. Players will need to attend trials and be invited to play in our Development teams. Selection can also be made through the Summer Academies. Click on here for more information.

  2. Junior Social Teams – for girls who aren’t selected for one of Development teams or who would prefer to play a more social level of football. Click on here for more information. Click on here for more information.

Northern Region Football (NRF) administers the draws, which are available online. Any changes to this will be communicated by your team manager and/or coach.

Team Kits

All players should wear Fencibles playing shirt, shorts and socks. These can be purchased online from Inter Football. Click here for more information. Shin pads are compulsory. If training on William Green during the week moulded soled boots are compulsory on the Turf (no screw in studs as it damages the turf).
