Development Plus Programme Squads

Pre-season registered U13 - U17 grade players will be invited to attend the open trials or alternatively assessed within the Fencibles Summer Academy to be part of a Fencibles Development Plus squads. Players selected into a Development Plus squad will be required to train three or two times per week and will play in one of the following leagues:

• Mixed NRFL Youth League (essentially the 1st XI of the age group): Competitions organised by Northern Region Football (NRF) both at home away. Away games played at clubs throughout Auckland including on the North Shore. Away games may also include Northland (Whangarei) and south into WaiBOP (Hamilton and Tauranga).All games will take place on Sundays mornings usually between 10am and 3pm.
• Mixed NRF Championship League (essentially the 2nd XI of the age group): Competitions organised by Northern Region Football (NRF) both at home and away. Away games played at clubs throughout Auckland (e.g. up north as far as Northland and south to Drury). All games will take place on Sundays mornings usually between 10am and 3pm. 

Team Selection

The Director of Football in conjunction with other Academy Coaches will select the Development Plus Programme squads. From the squads teams will get chosen each week to play in the NRFL Youth and NRF Championship teams. Team selections will take into consideration training and games both during open trials and during the Fencibles Summer Academy Programme. Development Plus squads are usually announced during late February or during March depending on age group. Development Plus squads usually consist of 30-32 players in each age group.

Coaches

Fencibles is committed to continuing to improve the level of coaching at the Club. All NRFL Youth League teams are required to have a coach qualified to a minimum of NZF/OFC C Licence (or equivalent). All NRF Championship League teams will have a suitably qualified coach with a minimum of NZF Youth Level 2 qualification.

Cost                                                       

There is an additional cost to the standard fees for this programme. Where the Club is able to provide a suitably qualified coaches for the Development Plus Programme, there will be an additional fee required to cover the expenses of these coaches. The cost will be communicated on selection.
