Fencibles qualify for the U18 Girls National Youth League.

6 Sep

Fencibles have qualified for the U18 Girls National Youth League. This is an exciting opportunity for our youth players. NZ Football have created the U18 Girls National Youth League to ensure that they are enabling our most talented young players the opportunity to continue their development in high quality environments, and that they have access to these high quality environments for a greater period of time.

Girls National Youth League

The girls competition is an nine-team U-18 competition, with teams entered in line with those in the women’s National League, which begins after the regular winter season concludes. The teams will play a single round robin mirroring the first round of the women’s National League season, and will be made up of a mixture of club and federation teams.

From the NRFL region (Auckland, Waikato & Northland) the top four U18 NRFL clubs that qualify through the playoffs will represent the region. Then a team each representing the other federations namely Football South (Otago/Southland), Mainland Football (Canterbury/Nelson), Capital Football (Wellington), Central Football (Centre North Island) and a team representing the country’s only professional club Wellington Phoenix make up the league.

Check out the ‘Events’ section of our club website or on the Fencibles App, that will have the complete schedule of our girls matches. Come and support our team during term 4. They would really appreciate your support.
