ANNOUNCEMENT - New Technical Director - Darren Bazeley

9 Feb

Fencibles AFC are pleased to announce the appointment of

Darren Bazeley to the role of Technical Director.

Darren has also recently been appointed the new All Whites assistant coach and NZ U20 national coach so Fencibles is very excited to be bringing into the club a very high level of expertise and talent.

This opportunity was created using the current resource sharing agreement between Fencibles and Eastern Suburbs and from this partnership we have been working closely with the newly formed Northern Rovers FC (Forest Hill Milford and Glenfield) This new initiative between the three clubs now allows us to bring on board someone of Darren’s ability which will be pivotal in enhancing the delivery of football across Fencibles.

“This is another great example where clubs individually could not afford someone of Darren’s skillset so by sharing this resource across our partnered clubs, we can collectively bring on board one of New Zealand's best footballing talents. For our members to have direct access with the All Whites assistant coach and NZ U20 national coach is very exciting”

Aaron Carson – FUAFC Chairman

Darren has an extensive footballing background both as a player and a coach and he was lured back to New Zealand from his professional coaching role at the Newcastle Jets. Previous to his Newcastle position he was coaching the Colorado Rapids in the MLS and U17 NZ national age group.

Darren has been involved in 72 New Zealand international games, coached at 5 World Cups with the U17 and U20 national teams and he holds a UEFA A License.

As part of the first steps Darren will be working closely with the board and Martin Rodwell (our new Director of Football) to understand the key drivers in our transformation and then he will lead the delivery of these pivotal areas through the club.

Please welcome Darren to the Fencibles Family
